Journalism is at a crossroads. Facing a world of misinformation and disinformation, journalists find themselves attacked by some and distrusted by many more. Yet the need for reliable storytellers is greater than ever when content that looks like news can be created using generative AI, alternative information sources often have little interest in verifiable facts and some political leaders regularly disseminate falsehoods. How can journalists navigate this new and often hostile world and regain the trust of a sometimes-skeptical public? Join moderator Pauline Dakin and four leading Canadian journalists who will tackle the issues at this journalism roundtable discussion. Visit https://ukings.ca/events/a-public-jou... to learn more.

Most of these "gatekeepers' in journalism that you're exposed to is "controlled, managed, and limited hangout" media.. its now just stenography, its reactionary and unhelpful.

The role of the citizen blogger has finally arrived due to reader curiosity.

2011 Minister of Education questioned by email...

"1) do you intend to let your daughter take the fluoride rinse? 2) do you know what the cost per year of the province (we understand it is a Department of Health expense) wide fluoride rinse program is? 3) do you know what year the consent form was introduced for the fluoride rinse? 4) are you open to reading literature about the harmful and damaging health risks associated with fluoride exposure? 5) will the Ministry of Education consider removing the fluoride rinse this year if enough evidence is presented at public hearing on this issue by concerned parties? 6) did you take the fluoride rinse as child in NB since you would have been 4 years old when it was introduced in 1979? In particular this video, about fluoride and the pineal gland, is worthwhile watching before meeting.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSZQ3ixu7a4 I understand you have two young daughters.. and we are here to help all parents in New Brunswick... so I will follow up with a phone call to you about arranging an interview (10 to 15 minutes) in the Oromocto offices this September.. I will speak to Marg again... Thank you. Best regards" [ Aug 27, 2011 ]

---Received a polite reply from Jody Carr on September 9, 2011.... "Thank you.. I have still been reviewing the questions... I will be in contact... thanks... Jody"

Never received a follow up from Jody .. he dropped the ball.
